Powder coatings color guide, in-booth demos of spec-writing software to be highlighted
PPG (NYSE: PPG) will continue its celebration of DURANAR® coatings’
golden anniversary at CONSTRUCT 2017, unveiling its Architectural Powder
Coatings Color Guide and hosting in-booth demonstrations of the BSD
SPECLINK E™ specification tool, which now features Duranar coatings.
The event will be held at the Rhode Island Convention Center in
Providence, Sept. 13-15.
As one of the industry’s first polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) coatings, Duranar coatings
helped revolutionize the architectural industry when introduced in 1967.
The coatings enabled architects to specify, for the first time, colorful
metal coatings with exceptional chalk- and fade-resistance.
Since their debut, Duranar coatings have been specified
by renowned architects for landmark buildings around the world,
including the Louvre Pyramid in Paris, One World Trade Center (Freedom
Tower) in New York, Shanghai World Financial Center in China, and
Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Brian Knapp, PPG director, coil and building products, said CONSTRUCT is
the ideal venue for saluting the 50-year legacy of Duranar coatings.
“The architects, specifiers, engineers and contractors who attend this
event know better than anybody the importance of trusting the products
they specify,” he explained. “Few, if any, products in our industry have
a more proven track record than Duranar coatings. This is
why they are specified continually for high-profile buildings and
thousands of regular commercial projects demanding decades-long color
retention, gloss retention and metal protection.”
PPG will distribute its new Architectural Powder Coatings Color Guide at
the event. This six-page brochure features 60 commonly specified
CORAFLON® powder coatings colors – solid colors, such as bone white,
sandstone and brick red; mica colors from platinum and champagne gold to
pewter and graphite gray; and specialty colors that include terra cotta
dark (textured), orange speckle (multi-color) and bronze (anodic look).
The brochure also includes three color chips depicting high, medium and
low gloss levels.
Visitors to the PPG booth can discover how to save time when specifying Duranar coatings
by using the BSD SpecLink E specification tool. This
subscription-based master specification system gives architects and
specifiers access to intelligent links, specification configurators,
notes and links to the latest PPG metal coatings product data.
