Company offers array of compatible pretreatment, liquid, powder and electrocoat technologies
PPG (NYSE: PPG) will display its full range of integrated transportation
coatings technologies for rail, trailer and intermodal applications
during Intermodal EXPO 2017 at the Long Beach Convention Center in
California, Sept. 17-19.
PPG is one of the few companies in the world to offer products and
technical expertise across a broad range of technology platforms.
Pretreatment products on display will include surface cleaners and
zinc-rich and zirconium-based primers, which PPG engineered to maximize
the ability of its liquid, e-coat and powder coatings to resist
corrosion and extend the service life of trucks, trailers and shipping
containers.
PPG also will showcase SPECTRACRON® solvent-based and AQUACRON®
ultra-low-VOC (volatile organic compound) water-based primers and
topcoats. Both products are available in a broad range of colors and in
acrylic, alkyd, epoxy and urethane formulations.
Visitors to the PPG booth will find information about POWERCRON® e-coats
and ENVIROCRON® powder coatings. Powercron coatings, the
industry’s most commonly used e-coat products, provide exceptional
protection against corrosion and ultraviolet (UV) exposure for specialty
frames and chassis-related components. Envirocron powder
coatings are hard, durable, cost-effective coatings that provide
exceptional corrosion- and weather-resistance in proven solvent-free,
low-VOC formulations.
Thomas McAfee, PPG national accounts manager, transportation, said
shippers, carriers, logistics companies and the original equipment
manufacturers (OEMs) that supply them rely on PPG for integrated,
single-source asset-protection solutions.
“PPG coatings are engineered to protect and add color, including
branding and logos, to almost every surface of a truck, trailer or
shipping container,” explained McAfee. “Even more importantly, PPG
supports its products and customers with a global network of
manufacturing plants, research and development labs, and sales and
technical support centers.”
Sponsored annually by the Intermodal Association of North America
(IANA), the Intermodal EXPO showcases the industry’s latest products and
services and addresses its toughest issues and challenges. Attendees
include professionals from ocean carriers, motor carriers and drayage
companies; railroads; equipment manufacturers and leasing companies; as
well as technology vendors and beneficial cargo owners (BCOs).
