TIANJIN, China, Nov. 2, 2021 – PPG (NYSE:PPG) today announced the completion of a COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® project at Guardian Angel Autism Rehabilitation Center in Tianjin, China. The project brought together nearly 40 volunteers from PPG’s Tianjin site, who spent nearly 150 hours revitalizing and beautifying the center’s interior.
PPG provided more than $111,755 (approximately RMB 715,000) in products and services to assist with the project, including 685 gallons (2,592 liters) of SEIGNEURIE™ exterior paint. In addition, PPG donated books, laser color printers, learning tablets, vertical electric heaters, bookshelves, tables, chairs, children’s self-balancing vehicles and other teaching aids, and supplies.
The Colorful Communities program provides PPG volunteers and products along with financial contributions to bring color and vitality to communities where the company operates around the world, such as in Tianjin, where PPG has a production facility and global coatings innovation center.
Established in 2011, the Guardian Angel Autism Rehabilitation Center cares for nearly 20 autistic children. PPG volunteers revitalized the center’s lobby, multi-function room, reading corner, music classroom, gym and more under the theme of “love and security.” The design, which focused on natural scenes, included sky and clouds painted on ceilings and walls to create a sense of three-dimensional immersion. The resulting colorful, interesting and warmer school interior stimulates the children’s imagination and creativity and accommodates their high sensitivity to colors, all while providing a safe and comfortable environment.

PPG has renovated the rehabilitation center with bright colors, allowing the children to visually explore a different world.”
